A real marriage/sanity-saver for new mothers

The corrosive factor that the baby blues can have on a relationship in the first 6 months can make or break a new family.  The woman is going through an intense rush of emotions and has just had a major medical event.

The toll the pregnancy has on the body combined with hormonal shifts leaves the woman prone to sudden emotional responses; anger and even depression.

Aunt Sue's suggestion?  Reach for a cup of tea

One of the main reasons this website was created was to spread the word about a magical tea that works wonders for "baby blues" and post-partum type symptoms.

Recommended by midwifes for generations, this herbal tea includes elements to calm the nerves, increase milk production and includes a natural form of estrogen.

If it works for you it's pure magic; 15 minutes after the first cup all is OK again and you can control your emotions better.  Why not try something inexpensive and natural before you sign on for that course of prescription medication?

RECIPE

Text File

16 oz boiling water
(standard size 8-12 cup tea pot or carafe).  Suggest water that has been filtered; ie:  no chlorine.  (Aunt Sue does not like chlorine in her drinking water...).

2 tablespoon fenugreek seed

2  fennel teabags

Boil water and pour over 2 tea bags of fennel tea and loose fenugreek seed in a carafe or tea pot.  Let steep 5 minutes.  Add sugar or flavor to taste.  Serve hot or cold.

More about Fenugreek seed

You purchase this seed by 100 gm or pound very inexpensively in most quality health food stores.  A small round seed, when infused with the hot water opens slightly, like half-popped popcorn.  This is the ingredient that contains the naturally occurring estrogen and seems to moderate the moods the most.

Fennel Tea is a herb tea staple and easily available at most health food stores and some larger or ethnic grocery stores.

Fennel is a reasonably inexpensive plant to grow; close to a weed really... so that it is grown organically may be important but expect to pay a stiff premium for high quality tea bags in a health food store.  You may be able to get a larger bag of this tea at a grocery store for a fraction of the price. You will probably be drinking a fair amount of this tea and you want to have plenty on hand.  Drinking water or tea is good for  hydration purposes also, related to milk production and helping well-being after a major medical event like having a baby.
